I first became curious about Bruges through the film In Bruges (a dark-comedy favourite), and travelled there alone in 2019 for a few days of photography. It became a kind of escape, wandering the old city and its canals without much of a plan. This canal-facing door was just around the corner from my hotel. The reflection caught my eye first, then the way the red door settled into the larger rhythm of brick and windows.
