TSWL 01 – Newboro Lock

Long-exposure black and white pinhole photograph of the Rideau Canal near Newboro Lock, viewed from the Highway 42 bridge beneath overhead utility lines.

Newboro Lock, Rideau Canal, Ontario. Photographed from the Highway 42 bridge near the channel connecting Upper Rideau Lake and Newboro Lake.

From The Straight Way Lost, a long-form photographic sequence exploring psychological landscape, disorientation, and transition along the Rideau Canal corridor in Eastern Ontario. Created during the final stage of the artist’s MA Photography studies at Falmouth University, the work draws upon the structure of Dante Alighieri’s Inferno to trace movement through uncertainty and toward provisional clarity.
